wpeA.jpg (6920 bytes)Malaysia is a major receiving country, with over 2 million migrant workers. Such large inflow was originated by scarcity of jobs in plantation, construction and domestic services during the years of fast economic growth. Migrants come mostly from Indonesia, Bangladesh and the Philippines and a large number of them are in an irregular situation. During the crisis perhaps 300,000 of them were repatriated.
