The Philippines is a major country of origin of labor migration.
Begun in the early 1970s, the flow of Filipino migrants has passed 800,000 in annual
deployment, including seafarers. Deployment to Asian countries has constantly increased
and is as relevant as deployment to the Middle East. Because of the high number of
domestic workers and entertainers, female migration counts for 60 percent of the annual
flow. Deployed Filipino migrants | Filipino migrants by region | Filipino migrants by major countries of destination | Filipino migrants by skills | Remittances of Filipino migrants | Migration in 1998 | Migration in 1999 | Migration in 2000 |
